  1. 1.  Will NetTerm work with netcom?
  2.  
  3.     The basic telnet client of NetTerm will work with the netcom TCP/IP
  4.     software, but not the zmodem or FTP server.  We are currently working
  5.     on ways to resolve this.  NetTerm will however work completely if you
  6.     use a winsock such as Trumpet instead of the normal netcom software.
  7.     We have included a script file, netcom.txt, which can be used with
  8.     Trumpet to access netcom.  Based upon our tests with netcom, the
  9.     purchase of Trumpet WinSock is a very wise investment and will make
  10.     your WWW surfing much faster and enjoyable.  You should also take a

  13. 2.  Will the FTP Server work with BBS's that support this feature?

  15.     Yes, we have tried it with bbs.execpc.com and got excellent results.

  17. 3.  Will the NetTerm zmodem file transfer work with my BBS over the
  18.     Internet?
  19.  
  20.     The hard facts are, some BBS's support the zmodem protocol fully and
  21.     some do not.  Also, it appears that some BBS's treat Internet based
  22.     zmodem requests as the lowest of low on the priorty list of things
  23.     to get done.  So much so, we have observed file transfers at 100
  24.     bytes per second!  Others can transfer files at the speed of your
  25.     logon modem baud rate.  Transfer speeds will also vary with the
  26.     number of logged in users.  It's worth the time to give it a try
  27.     if you have Internet access and normally dial long distance to your
  28.     BBS.  It could save you a lot of money if your BBS supports it.

  30. 4.  Will NetTerm work with the Netscape WWW client?
  31.  
  32.     Yes, just define NetTerm to Netscape by using Netscape's Options,
  33.     Preferences menu.  Select the "Applications and Directories" tab.
  34.     On the line "Telnet Application", use the browse button to locate
  35.     NetTerm and you ready to telnet directly from Netscape.

  37. 5.  How do I adjust the size of the NetTerm window?
  38.  
  39.     The size of the main window depends upon three values, the number
  40.     of rows, the number of columns and most important, the size of
  41.     the font.  In most cases, the rows and columns remain fixed at
  42.     24x80 so the font size is really what determines the overall size
  43.     of the screen.  If you have a need to just monitor a site, chose
  44.     a small font size from the font dialog box.  If you have a large
  45.     monitor, and want a really big display then just double an existing
  46.     value displayed in the font dialog box.  For example, if you are
  47.     using the font isi_oem and you see the value 10 displayed in the
  48.     font dialog box, type in 20 and you will get a large window size.

  50. 6.  How do I get the correct international characters for my country?
  51.  
  52.     NetTerm has the ability to map both the keyboard and video with
  53.     the use of country tables.  The country table can be defined by
  54.     host, using the 'Mapping' push button within the phone directory.
  55.     A country table must be created by copying the country.ini file
  56.     to another file prefixed with the desired country name, such as
  57.     norway.ini.  Then define this mapping file to one of your hosts
  58.     and use the Options-Setup-International menu to map both the
  59.     video and keyboard sections.  The example file norway.ini contains
  60.     the following mappings:

  71.     will enable/disable mapping for all hosts.

  73.     InterSoft will accept unique country files and will include them
  74.     in the normal distribution of NetTerm.  Once you have tested out
  75.     your country file, email to the address shown in the About box.
